Formed in 1998 GET ANIMAL debuted July 1st 1998 at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens New York opening for Japanese supergroup the Alfee who flew in 10,000 rock fans from Japan. The polite Japanese audience of screaming teenage girls were in shock by the blood and fire display of decadence and vulgarity of Get Animal. The reaction inspired the band to set their sights where people don't speak English.

In early 1999, the band quickly got over to Europe after a support slot on the west coast of America supporting Chumbawamba. They rocked the year-short-of-puberty crowd with the bubblegum hit "Swingin' On A Star" and then shocked them as Pink spit blood all over his Yves Saint Laurent shirt after slamming into a heavy metal guitar solo from hell. They ended the set with the Spice Girls version of the Gary Glitter hit "Leader Of The Gang" and Pink set his guitar on fire. Get Animal thought it was funny, so they decided to go into a studio and record the disaster. The end result was Get Animal's debut album on SPV records in Germany.

The band then toured Europe for 3 months supporting the heavy metal group W.A.S.P. as well as playing some of the big open air festivals. Guitarist Pink Gibson practically incited a riot in Italy opening for Motorhead and Metallica. They received rave reviews across the continent on the debut album and the live performances except in England where they rated the debut album Get Animal as "the worst record in the history of the Gramaphone." Pink took that as a good sign and worked on new songs while on tour in Spain in November 1999. He decided to make the next album so blatant, it would be obvious to a deaf person.

Disaster struck on tour in Madrid as Pink's guitar was attacked by a dog who jumped inside of Get Animal's equipment van and dragged the 1958 vintage Les Paul Junior into the street and broke in two pieces. The band decided to stop touring and return to New York and record the next album. They recorded 14 songs in 3 days and Pink flew off to Hawaii for 3 weeks to mix. After careful deliberation the band has chosen the unique and obvious album title: "GET ANIMAL Number 2."

Guitarist/vocalist PINK GIBSON has a simple philosophy: "Rock every night like it's your last night on earth". He says, "Get animal is like a bad car accident. I'm the driver bleeding to death on the side of the road. Not many will stop to help but EVERYBODY looks as they pass by."

"My band, my album, my songs, it's all just one bad piss take. I'm an American, 34 year old rocker with long hair, eye makeup, and a pink guitar. I play every overplayed, overused, tried and true guitar riff ever written. I blatantly rip off every rock superstar guitar dinosaur on the verge of extinction. It's the furthest thing from cutting edge, hip or trendy, that I can imagine."

"It was never meant to be taken seriously in a credibility sort of way. Just a little joke with a bit of kick to it. My story is pretty much a bad spinoff of Spinal Tap but sometimes truth can be more ridiculous than fiction. Just don't think because I have a sense of humour that I won't rip your head off!"

The band did get some manic fans in 1999 including THE SMALLEST MAN IN THE WORLD: Verne Troyer (Mini Me) the 32 inch star of Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me. He met the group in Hollywood and Pink found out that Get Animal is Mini Me's favorite band. Pink asked Verne to be on the cover of Get Animal Number 2.

Get Animal Number 2 will be released on June 6th 2000 on SPV Steamhammer in Europe. Look for the band on tour in a shithole near you.
